Driving School Policies

Driving lesson guidelines

Each driving lesson is a minimum of 1 hour, and a 5-minute debrief is included. Students therefore have a minimum of 50 minutes of practice time.

  • Lesson cancellations: 48 hours' notice is required. Otherwise a cancellation fee applies.
  • Road test cancellations: 72 hours' notice is required for road test appointments booked by Banur Driving School, because we must notify ICBC. Late cancellations may result in a $25 road test cancellation fee from ICBC.
  • Payment: All payments must be made before lessons.
  • Refunds: There are no refunds for driving lessons or road tests that have already taken place. Prepaid lessons or road tests cancelled without sufficient notice are not refunded.
  • Licence: Students must provide a valid BC learner or driver licence, or a foreign driver licence, before the first lesson, and must carry it during training.
  • Vehicle occupants: Only the student driver and the instructor may be in the Banur Driving School vehicle during training.
  • Consent form: Students must sign a consent and release form before Banur Driving School can book a road test on their behalf.
  • MELT assessments: If a student does not pass the MELT theory or practical assessment, a D.O.C. is not issued and fees are not refunded.
